Since the Beginning...
My grandparents were always a staple in my life. They both came from families of hard-working Syrian immigrants who made the best of their life in America. Pictured is me at age 5 with my grandfather - a proud Korean War Veteran and my grandmother - a professional Middle-Eastern dancer and a wonderful mother of three. As the first-born grandchild, I always had an exceptionally close and special relationship with them. We had an unbreakable bond and shared so much love and respect for each other.
...and Throughout My Life.
One day, they needed my personal care and support. My grandparents were aging and slowing down. They faced a number of troubling ailments such as dementia & Alzheimer's disease, breast cancer, congestive heart failure, and rheumatoid arthritis. I assisted them in transitioning environments from their home, to an assisted living, to a memory care, and eventually helped coordinate hospice care for them both. Caring for my grandparents until their passing was the most rewarding and humbling experience of my life. My grandparents are the reason and purpose behind my profession in the eldercare industry. I could never thank them enough for my upbringing, as well as their unconditional love and support.
